It was nice to see our project come together without any giant problems this week.
I spent most of my time this week working on the layout of our white paper draft. I wrote the introduction, designed the cover page quickly using images from our report, and then created a table of contents. After formatting my own section of the draft (the introduction), I began integrating the pieces that Joe, Pat and Shane had e-mailed to me.
Once I started compiling the sections, I came across a few issues with our thumbnail and with the sections themselves. First, it occurred to me that our paper might be more effective if each router section had the same subheadings, so I e-mailed the group and we reworked our sections a bit so they include the same subheadings with each router.
I also realized that using footnotes on each page wasn't going to be feasible with our thumbnail because of the lines on the bottom. I suggested that we use the footnotes as endnotes instead, and include a references section at the end of our document. The group seemed amenable to this, so I changed the draft. I had to reformat several of the citations to make sure they included the necessary MLA information, and also had to check on the style for citing images. I then looked up each of our images and created the proper citations.
After placing all of the images and text and formatting it as consistently as possible, I sent a .pdf of the draft to the group. After getting their feedback, I altered a few things on the draft and resent it. I will post the draft later today after receiving everyone's feedback.
