This week has been a very productive one for Group 3. Using the comments from our thumbnails and emails between the group members, we selected Nigel's layout as the one that we would use for our white paper. The main reason we selected this layout was that we all liked the two-column layout that he used. We felt that this was the best way to balance white space with text. He also used a summary section at the end that will help those who want a quick overview of each section.
Taking the research that we did individually, we each began to construct a rough draft of our section of the white paper. Due to the way that we had broken up the work, it was very easy for each person to write about the technology that they researched and then email it to Issac. Then Issac was able to take all the individual sections and combine them into one white paper. Ideally it should have been an easy cut and paste job. However we have run into some issues with combining our efforts. The formatting that we did individually did not transfer over well. Issac spent a good amount of time going back and reformatting everything. However now that we have everything put together, hopefully this will be the only time that this will have to be done.
Next week we will be focusing on polishing our rough draft into a solid white paper. While we will be looking over each individual part for minor things such as grammar and spelling, our main focus will be on examining the white paper as a whole. We will need to ensure that we have not only provided the user with the information that they need but that we have presented it in an unbiased manner.
