English 421Y: Technical Writing Online

This week I spent my time focused on writing my rough draft. After our first online group meeting, we divided up the parts of the reports. I was supposed to write my section comparing Google groups to Microsoft SharePoint. I decided the best way to handle this would be to split up the sections of my part into different categories. I felt that by doing this I can compare them better while informing our target audience about how Microsoft SharePoint does things better than Google Groups, without directly telling them that. I did some more research on my topic before I started to write. Even though I did some research in the previous weeks I was able to narrow it down even more. By doing this extra research I felt that it helped me write my paper.

During Friday we had another group meeting to put all of the information together. I came online during our seven o’clock meeting time and I talked with Justin. I gave him my portion of the report and asked if there was anything I could do to speed up the process as I had friends over. He said I could go and he would take care of everything. I thanked him and told him I would type up next week’s group progress report.
