English 421Y: Technical Writing Online

This week I revised my performance section of the white paper. I took into account the advice from the instructor on how to make it better and be more usable as a white paper. The first thing I had to do was make brief captions for each chart that I had placed on the different turbine performance outlines.. These captions just gave a basic overview of what you were seeing in terms of the charts and graphs that I used. The other part that needed some help was to make a bulleted summary of the information I put in the main paragraphs of the performance part. I outlined each of these bulleted list so that they were exactly the same for each different wind turbine so the reader can make a quick assessment of the specs. I included things like rated output, cost, cut-in wind speed and things of that nature. Overall I think that these additions will help make my performance section much easier to read at a glance for those people who are “raiding” the document for information. Now one can look at my bulleted summary section to compare each turbine in the exact same ways. That is why I made each bulleted list have the exact same layout so you can make a quick comparison of each one.
