This week we edited our rough draft from last week in order to put together a final draft to hand in for our project. There were a number of minor details that needed to be adjusted. Some of the points brought to our attention by our instructor were to change our spacing so it was not double and consistency in the use of spaces and serial commas. We also had some errors with heading titles and other quick-fixes that needed to be taken care of.
We then tackled the issue of clarifying our separate speeds of our routers (wired and wireless). We also needed to include information on the use of draft-n to our paper. There were minor technical issues here that were found by our members such as consistency in the use of units since there were measurements in both the metric and standard system. These speeds were used to give real world, tangible information that we needed for our audience, which is more feedback that we needed to work on. Along with our technical information we included information on what to expect for a user when they set it up, router size, and even whether or not to expect a power adapter to block an outlet. Information such as this was given specifically for the salespeople so that they could relate it to their customers to help sell routers. How to properly use our language in this manner for our audience was on of the main topics of the group meeting this week, which was on Monday.
At one point Kristin noticed from other groups' feedback that an executive summary might be needed. After getting this clarified it was then made and employed in our document. With some other minor tweaks to punctuation, phrasing of words, and pictures over the last couple days we will have our final draft in before midnight tonight.
