To get started this week, our group members e-mailed and traded
contact information. We spent most of Tuesday brainstorming and
narrowing down our topic choices, and finally settled on dealing with
wireless security for home networks. We then started to brainstorm
how we might tackle the project and divide up responsibility for both
the proposal and the activity reports.
We settled on using Google Docs to post and share information as we
work, and then decided that one person would be responsible for
writing the bulk of our weekly report and posting it to the course
website when finished. We set a schedule for each week, and signed up
for individual weeks. Kristin will be responsible for this week, Week
12. Patrick is responsible for Week 13, Joe for Week 14, and Shane
for Week 15. We will share the responsibility for the final week,
Week 16.
On Google Docs, we set up and shared documents where we could share
the potential sources we found, record what we had done that week for
the activity report, and posted a document where we could collaborate
on the proposal. We also decided that we should each look for a few
potential sources of information, as this would not only help us for
the proposal, but it would put us one step ahead for our individual
research blogs that are due in Week 14. We then turned to the
proposal and finally decided to split up the parts of it. Patrick
volunteered to assemble and review the proposal before posting it to
the course web site on Friday. Finally, we planned to all "meet" via
instant messenger sometime Sunday evening/Monday afternoon (we have
yet to set a definitive time) in order to discuss next week's work
and the best way(s) to address the rest of the project.
