This document summarizes the information that will be used from the website http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833127241 for my white paper project. This website, known as new egg, is a third party supplier of various items including software, cameras, and computers. They have no ties with the manufacturer so they are unbiased. The item I researched is a wireless router from the company D-Link, model DIR-615. I reviewed the specifications for the item on this site that were taken word-for-word from the manufacturers specifications. The primary reason I will use this website for my research is for the cost of the item. After much research of the internet I was able to find several sites that offered a cheaper price of the item than the manufacturer with warranty, brand new. The cheapest (disregarding auctions on eBay) was newegg.com for $39.99. Another website that is included in this research is http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=565. That is the link to manufacturer’s website, which lists their price of the item at $64.99.

Another reason that I will be using the site newegg.com is for photos. The website has nine pictures that could be used in the white paper. The pictures are highly detailed shots of the product from each side, pictures of the accessories, and photos of the box it comes in.

It should also be noted that in my research I came across a website, smartsubs.com, which offered the product for $24.94 with the mandatory purchase of a monthly service of “Real Broadband Essentials” (a security provider). It is possible to purchase the item and immediately cancel the service for a total cost of $24.94 (and free shipping) however I do not consider this the lowest price as there are added terms of the purchase.
