Week 13 was focused on deciding how to break up the work for the project and how to approach the audience issue. On Monday, I initiated an AIM chat for everyone to meet and discuss their concerns and desires for this project.
For the research blogs that are due next week I suggested that each group member take a different sub-topic to research and be in charge of. My topic that I will specifically be researching is nuclear power. Things I will be looking for in my research are the positives and drawbacks of using it as a main source of power today. I suggested that everyone do the same in their research because we want to be as unbiased as possible.
For the part of the project that was due this week, the Gantt Chart, both Dean and I had some helpful experience to lend toward its completion. Because both of us are in mechanical engineering, we have had a few classes where we have used Gantt Charts during projects. I suggested helpful websites to use for examples and mentioned specific sections that should be edited on the rough draft such as due dates and sub-topics.
After this part was completed, I spent the rest of the week beginning my research and formulating how I will document and present it in the upcoming group meeting on Monday. I suggested that we continue to meet on AIM because it seems as if all of us are busy with other group projects and have many conflicting classes. It was easier for us to use 20 minutes in between things to meet online all together.
The next step for me will be to begin the rough draft thumbnail that is due this upcoming Wednesday. I also want to have most of my research blog done as well.
