My third research blog covers information from the website http://hardwaretechreview.com/linksys-wrt54g2-wireless-g-router-review, which includes another tech review. It touches upon a few other features that my second research blog didn’t cover.
It’s known that this new router is an upgrade from the popular WRT54G, and this site confirms that it is essentially the same router, but with an upgraded Broadcom chipset and more appealing physical aesthetics. It still includes four Ethernet ports and an Ethernet WAN link for the internet connection (PPPoE), as this product does not come with a built-in modem. I’m sure that the other models require a modem as well, but it will be important to notify our audience of this information so they understand what else is required for a functioning network. The site also confirms that the installation process is relatively easy, especially with the new Linksys EasyLink Advisor (LELA). The tech(s) also tested the unit to make sure that the wireless performance was adequate. They claim that it is equally effective as the original WRT54G, even with two internal antennas. This should give the reader a good idea of how well this router will perform, and also address any reservations that the consumer may have about internal antennas. Up until recently, most products have had external antennas to achieve longer wireless ranges.
This source helps to reaffirm some of the claims in other tech reviews, but it also has a few unique points that I can include in my draft. I believe most of the information will be used as text, but that may change once we decide on a format.
