English 420Y - Business Writing Online

This is a position for a job with Century 21 Realtors as a Sale Associate. In this job one would be responsible for helping homebuyers to market their homes and to help them to find new areas of estate to purchase. The job claims that no experience is necessary, and new entrants will be trained by a number of experienced professionals. Each individual will learn helpful tools to dealing with people and gaining their trust as a salesperson which is important to acquiring more business.

1. Golf Course Maintenance worker. Fort Wayne Country Club in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Supervisor: Brian Chalifoux. Started working April 2003-Present (Spring to Summers Only). Requirements: Working hours: 5:30 a.m-1:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 5:30 a.m -8:30 a.m. Saturday & Sunday.

2. I have done various volunteer work, but nothing consistent and repetitive to list the details of.

3. I have no experience with internships or apprenticeships.

The course reading for the first week was a preface to the basics of business writing. From reading, I have learned that our areas of focus in this course will be writing resumes, memos, cover letters, and other types of reports. Each one of these documents have their own forms of criteria to be contained within it. I expect the course to contain writing documents similar to these. I am familiar with writing texts similar to the ones that are expected in this class for I have done it before both in high school and in my college English class.
