Week 8 was another busy week for our group. This was the last and final week for developing and revising our brochures. Kim and I were responsible for the caring for your pet brochure. I began the week with editing some more information. We followed the comments given to us, and hence I edited some information in the caring for your pet brochure, more specifically the vaccination part. We weren’t supposed to use any information from a non humane website and I kept that in mind. I sent the edited text to Kim then. She put the text together in the final draft.
Week 7 was all about revising our brochures. With the feedback on the first draft, we started working on our second draft. To make sure all parts are original, I rewrote my parts again. I then emailed them to Kim. We then revised the brochure with the new material. Because of some problems, I had to revise the part I had written again. So during the week, I revised that and emailed it to Kim again. I gave feedback of the second draft to the group members. I also gave feedback to the other group assigned to us.
5:00 Appeal to Emotions: +
Our brochure does appeal to emotions. By reading the information in our brochure, the readers feel the need to volunteer and save pets. They understand the pain since many of us in today’s world also have our own pet.
4:00 Be Professional: +
I feel our brochure is professional. We have used perfect pictures throughout the brochure. We also have a good color combination. We haven’t used clip arts nor have we mixed too many colors that would downgrade our brochure.
3:40 Be Personal: +
Week 6 was really busy for me as well as my group members. In this week we managed to get our first drafts ready of both the general information brochure as well as the caring for your pet brochure. We communicated through emails and helped each other with questions. Since I was in charge for researching the topic, beginning last weekend, I started working on it. Researching is not an easy job and especially when we have too much information. I collected all the information I could. Kim and I divided the work equally among both of us. She took a set of topics and I took another.
Chapter 24 and 37 of Thompson Handbook had really useful information for making brochures. Chapter 24 explained about the use of effective design to keep the reader engrossed in the reading while chapter 37 talked about the importance of variety of language in the brochure. I feel our group tried to use both these qualities to our best abilities. The main aim of the brochure is to appeal the audience. This can be only done by having a good content, mixture of attractive pictures and a suitable design.
All during week 5, I believe that my group did a good job communicating. We all got to know ourselves and I sent out emails regarding my contact information. Communicating through the emails was simple and easy and it worked efficiently for all of us. One of the main things that I focused on was to reply to the emails on time. Even though I am in another country as of now, I still tried my best to reply quickly to the emails and keep an update of what is happening. After knowing ourselves we decided to discuss, the parts that each one is going to be responsible of.
I found this brochure about the Euro Railways very interesting. Here is the link:
http://www.eurorailways.com/kb/brochures/ER2006.pdf
The brochure gives an overview of the European railway system, with detailed information about all the various possible rail passes. The brochure also touches upon the rail protection plan and the customer service department. The brochure is made really attractive and would look even better in hand.
Final Corporate Communication Project
Here is my Business Letter.
Open to any kind of feedback.
Thank you.
The snow crisis faced on JFK airport was indeed a very ghastly experience travelers faced. This experience is seen in the video below:
