Jet Blue Crisis

I believe Jet Blue handled the crisis in a reasonably effective way. One thing they could have done better, which was mentioned in the “Communication Lessons from the JetBlue Meltdown,” was making their web site a fast communication tool to the public. I also believe it would have been a good idea to turn the wait time into a sort of event by bringing in food and activities for children. I definitely think JetBlue handled their crisis in an ethical way. They didn’t lie to the people about the fact that it was their fault a situation like that arose.

Jet Blue Article

I chose this article first and foremost because it was written by a well respected magazine: TIME. TIME magazine has been a front runner in news for decades. I also chose this article because it highlights a different company's crisis management success. Along with this sucess, they also give examples of other bad crisis management situations. Within this article, TIME magazine writes about the differences between how they were handled. This gives us a better insight into how Jet Blue handled the crisis compared to others faced with similar problems.

Resume Extravaganza

Choosing 5 resumes out of the 32 that were offered was not as difficult as I thought. There were a definite 5 that jumped out at me. The ones that did were numbers 5, 19, 20, 18, and 22. These resumes all had something in common. First, the sections were clearly marked which is something I think is extremely important. The easier it is to read and the nicer it is to look at, the more the resume jumps out at you.

Formatting is Important

I think the Ten Habits of Successful Emailers was very helpful, however I think something was missing out. I believe one habit that was overlooked is writing in a clear format. Working in sales, I realize how extremely important formatting can be. Getting people to read your e-mails thoroughly can be hard, but a clear, organized layout makes it much easier. I find that most people enjoy bullets, numbering, or space between paragraphs.

Job Ad Analysis

I chose to apply for a sales account manager with NCR Corporation. I am interested in this position because NCR is a technical company that sells hardware and software solutions. My major pertains to very well since industrial management blends both engineering and business into one. I think finding a job in technical sales would be a perfect fit for me. NCR's sales program is set up in a way that I find intriguing. New sales hires are trained for a year and then deployed around the nation to run their own accounts.
