This week I work with Faheem on the Caring for your pets brochure. I looked for pictures while he worked on the text. He then added pictures into the text. We then rearranged some things according to size. And woala! We have a nice Caring for your pet brochure.
This beginning of this past week we spent a good deal of time looking at or original draft and getting it redone and ready to submit for a second time. Rachel did a wonderful job re-designing the brochure and I was really impressed with the way she managed to take the information in our original draft and make it neater and more concise. We had spent a while taking in comments on our draft and discussing changes through email before she sent us out the version she had been working on. We then went through it and made our own comments and made small changes.
Since I was in Vegas for work last week and did not have any time, this week I did much of the work. Matt, Samana and I worked it out that I would do the second draft revisions. With one person doing both of the revisions, it made it easier to make the brochures look uniform. I first read the instructor comments and took those into consideration. I think all the comments were very helpful. From these, I got a better picture of what directions the brochures needed to go. I changed the symbol we were using for the Humane Society since it was not the correct logo.
The Service Learning Project Assessment form has been attached to the Service Learning Project page and the Week 8 calendar page. This completed form is due to your instructor by Friday, August 3rd by email.
This week in my participation decreased a bit since I had to travel back to the US and thus had a limited access to the internet for a bit. Yet, before departing I was able to comment on the brochure in order to prepare our second draft. Futhermore upon my arrival to the US I immediatly communicated with my group, catching up with all the e-mails and finally completing the week with the weekly activity report.
In taking the five minute brochure design trash test. I believe the images that we added does strike a chord with our prospects. Our graphic in our brochure made our brochure look professional. Our brochures were easy to understand when it came to simple communications. I believe that our brochures packed in the most information as possible.
This week our group mainly focused on revising the article of our brochures. This week's reading was very helpful to put variety and rhythm on the sentences of our article. As the instructor commented on my part, the information of donation, I removed the specific person's name and contact information. I inserted the CFRC's contact information instead. In addition, the instructor’s comment that due to the regulation, the donation should be used only for the Christmas Day event but not for other areas of the community was very important information.
I started out this week thoroughly looking over the content already written for the past week, and made revisions accordingly. I made sure to fix all the mistakes Ryan found within the brochure. I worked very hard to make sure the content met the standards the Humane Society wants to go by also. I also made sure that everyone in the group made changes accordingly to what Ryan commented on. While re-reading the content of the brochure I found a few of little mistakes that I changed. I also made the brochure more reader friendly.
I started this week off with writing the group activity report for week 6 over the weekend. I mailed the report to the group for some feedback and Alex turned it with some minor additions. This week I completed the caring for your pet brochure and turned it as draft 3 for the caring brochure. I completed the second page of the brochure and made a lot of edits in accordance to the feedback provided to me the instructor. The caring for you pet brochure now looks very consistent and much more visually effective.
This week was a real productive week for our group. At the start of the week we had to turn in our second drfat for our broucher. So i contacted all my groupmates asking them how would we split up the work and how we were going to work on it. Before all that i worte an activitcty report on sundady and emailed it to all my group members. After getting there feedback i sent the email out to the professor. After looking at the comments that our teacher made about our frist draft.
