Reading Reponse Week 5

The brochure I found is informational developed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security explaining about preparing pets for emergencies. It is divided into three sections giving more details of getting a pet emergency supply kit, planning what you will do in an emergency and knowing about types of emergencies.

Reading Response Week 5

The brochure I found was for Flora Marathon that took place in London on April 22 of this year. The front of the brochure uses a bright yellow background that attracts the eye and makes the brochure stand out. The graphics on the front panel use two shades of green, a complimentary color to yellow, that make that the brochure aesthetically pleasing. The graphics themselves depict several silhouettes of runners, cyclists, babies, the Tower Bridge, and a rhinoceros.

Reading Response Week 5

I think the layout of this brochure was its key element to success. The font of the title is clearly larger than any other part of the brochure, and the opening paragraph of text is marked by using a drop cap. It then goes into the text, but uses bullets to clearly indicate all the key points and allows the reader to easily locate them compared to having everything typed out in a list. All the text is grouped into related subjects. Whenever the subject changes, a header is used to clearly state this to the reader.

Reading Responce.Team Work.

There are many theories that support the benefits of group projects. As a matter of fact, in Krannert, almost all classes have huge group projects that are supposed to teach us about the real world. Recruiters, often ask you question about experiences working in groups, yet, I believe group projects to be unrealistic, complicated and contra productive. In a long distance course this can be even more complex. To start with, we don’t have a meeting place other than a virtual chat or post, time differences with different schedule and activities can add to the complexity.
