week13

noles32 — Mon, 11/24/2008 - 00:15

While working on the project this week, I was able to accomplish some goals that were set each day. Unfortunately, it was slow start for frontend coders this week. The waiting game on the client’s decision on certain aspect of the website, held back production for a few days. It was really difficult to start the structure of the website without any of the client’s decision on the design layout. In addition to the absent of the clients decision, the frontend coders and I were unable to retain any information because their website was temperately down.

Week 13

s5m32l3 — Sun, 11/23/2008 - 22:41

I know this is a bit late. I got caught up in the middle of things on Friday and totally forgot. Anyways…This week was little less confusing and more productive. First of all, I helped figure out what needed changed on the Gantt chart. We changed what was accomplished to black and also extended some dates to have things finished according to each teams needs. I also met with the Design team throughout the week to figure where they stood on the project, what they were working, what they were going to be doing to finish up their part of the project, and if they needed any help with anything.

Late Entry

Doomsday Forte — Sun, 11/23/2008 - 00:26

Yeah, I know it's late. It's not the first time. Let's move on.

Well, so far we've managed to back up the entire site on our own, so Gary and I have half of the site backed up. Now that we know what exactly we're dealing with, we're going to move forward with the project, finally. It's too bad though, since I liked design #5, and doing tabs would've been pretty neat, but we are assigned the grunt work.

Week 13 Blog

podarcze — Sat, 11/22/2008 - 03:29

This week in class I resumed working on editing the Gantt chart for our project. I took what everyone was doing and I made that black on the Gantt chart. This signifies that the group was done with that part of their jobs. I also altered some of the Gantt chart by determining what can be done at this very moment for each group and determining what should wait until after thanksgiving. In regards to helping groups, I lead one of the meetings at the start of class. I also focused mainly on working with the front-end team.

Design Week 13

Pat — Fri, 11/21/2008 - 23:59

Monday was spent discussing our layouts and color schemes. We decided which designs we would send to the client so that they could make their decision. We sent the designs to the organization team and they shared them with the rest of the class. The designs were sent to the client and we could not do much else until they told us which design they wanted.

week13

PyroJing — Fri, 11/21/2008 - 23:26

On Monday, we were told to hold off coding till a final design was chosen by the client. We were also told to look into tab menus in case the design with it was chosen.

On Wednesday I created an icon to indicate broken images, We continued o looking into what was available to do, but we were like fish out of water without a chosen mock-up to design to. I couldn't stay long for class, but I was able to meet up with my group and we discussed what we will do once we got the set mock-up.

Work Blog 13

almost famous — Fri, 11/21/2008 - 19:41

This week our group was able to accomplish a bit more than last week. Personally I accomplished a good share of work on Monday and Friday. On Wednesday I was sick with an allergic reaction to something which caused me to swell up. On Monday my task was to meet with the Documents and testing team. Together we talked about where they were as a team, what still needed to be accomplished and what they were working on. I took notes and then when the org team met back up I discussed my group’s needs.

Design Chosen

islington — Fri, 11/21/2008 - 18:52

Early in the week it was hard to get a clear direction of where to go. Monday was spent analyzing each of the design team's designs and choosing which aspects that regardless of what the client chose, we could carry over to the next. Last week I had already made the first mock up, which ended up being chosen after Wednesday. So this week I had not made another design on my own.

Design - Week 13

cechambe — Fri, 11/21/2008 - 17:20

Over the weekend I worked on yet another design mockup. I used the client’s old website for reference in creating it. I relied on the content and information from the site and made minor changes to the layout and colors. I also changed the fonts as they were hard to read and not very visually pleasing.

Weekly Progress Report

turtle power! — Fri, 11/21/2008 - 15:32

This week we have encountered a few problems. The largest problem we've encountered was that whenever we have an error on the server, it will not tell us what the error is, or what line the error has been detected. This has really slowed down the developmental progress, but we have been doing the best we can to write accurate code that will work.
