Opera Research (3)

I continued my research on Opera, finding more and more ways to customize this browser and make it truly an enjoyable way to surf. This time around I found some cool features that will keep the user from loosing information or their place on the internet.

The first feature is browsing cached pages offline. Working offline has been used before but never really worked that well, think IE. Browsing cached pages in Opera is almost like browsing with the connection still hooked up. It is very seamless and is no different than browsing online, except the user can’t open new pages, obviously. This feature could be very useful for an IT person when the information they need is online, but their network is down. They could have all of their favorite pages cached and could reference them when or if the network goes down. I can’t tell you how many times my internet has been out and I just needed some simple information from a page I was viewing earlier. This sounds like win/win to me.

Another useful tool that Opera offers is the ability to open the browser to the same state it was at when the window was closed. We have all been looking at a page before and closed it by mistake, loosing everything that was on the screen. With Opera even if the window is closed by mistake, it will still be there when you open it back up! No more searching for that page again.
