Individual Report (5)

I spent most of this week helping make revisions and making sure everyone was on the same page with the project. I also made sure that the group met on Gchat so we could all discuss what modifications needed to be made on the paper. This seemed to be the best solution since we would be able to have a live conversation about the changes vs. wasting time sending emails back and forth. We all decided on what changes needed to be made and we went to town making them. My job was to proof and make revisions on the various sections, posting them on Google Docs.

This week was obviously spent on making the final corrections to our white paper. We spent a lot of time revising, formatting, and restructuring our paper to make it just right. We implemented a lot of the corrections that were given in our rough draft feedback and we feel that they helped to improve the overall flow of the document.

This week was spent finishing up research, creating a detailed outline, and ensuring that everyone was on the same page. All group members agreed that a detailed outline should be completed by Monday so that writing could begin. I finished my outline for Opera and made sure everything was in order to simplify the writing process. The rest of the week was spent talking with group members to ensure we were all on the same page.

This week was crunch time. Everyone did their best to meet tonight’s deadline so we could have a good base for the final draft. Group communication continued to be strong throughout the week, with everyone having a say in the direction of the project. After a lot of writing, revising, and formatting a solid rough draft has been produced.

This week was spent finishing up research and making sure the group was all on the same page as far as work and organization. I completed my research on Opera functionality through using the program and searching the web. I found a lot of information from users who liked a particular feature or function and then tried them myself. For example, I tried the custom button feature where you can program a button perform a custom operation which saves time and allows the user to browse the internet how they want. I’m starting to think that I might switch from Firefox to Opera.

Opera Research (3)

I continued my research on Opera, finding more and more ways to customize this browser and make it truly an enjoyable way to surf. This time around I found some cool features that will keep the user from loosing information or their place on the internet.

Opera Research (2)

While researching user functionality in Opera I found some neat features. All browsers basically serve the same purpose but it’s nice when you can customize the browser to the way your use the internet and or your browser. Opera gives the user the ability to do just that, customize the browser to their liking, making for streamline browsing. Opera has a widget feature where you can create your own button do perform a certain task or open up a certain URL. This would be extremely useful for an IT person that is looking for one click to perform multiple functions.

Group Report (3)

This week our group spent most of its time using and researching the three different browsers (Opera, Firefox, IE) and our audience. We are becoming familiar with all of the browsers and starting to see the real benefits of each, when compared on the same scale. We all have favorite features with each browser, but our research is still focused on the point of which would be the preferred browser for an IT specialist/department. As a group we are beginning to focus in on the main features we want to highlight and compare.
