Apple iPhone:

I've made a systematic method of presenting the research.

First, and simply we have cost, the 8 gigabyte model will run you $199.99 with a 2 year contract, and the 16 gigabyte model will be $299.99 with a 2 year contract. (http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/specials/iphone-info.jsp) Each model will require a service fee of $69.99, $89.99, $109.99, $129.99 that covers various numbers of minutes and there is an additional $30 fee for unlimited 3G data transfer-which is almost necessary if you want to be able to use the phone to it's fullest extent. These fees are monthly in addition to the price of the phone (which requires a 2 year contract). http://ipod.about.com/od/iphone3g/a/iph_3g_rates.htm

Next, usability. Apple seems to have designed the iPhone with ergonomics in mind. http://ergonomics.about.com/od/buyingguide/tp/iphone_interface_breakdown... It has a touch screen that is easy to navigate that is completely dynamic.

Reliability. According to this study, http://www.cellmad.com/interesting-statitics-how-reliable-is-your-iphone/, about 5% of the tested iPhones had malfunctioned in some way-which, by comparison, is quite good. Most people on message boards (reliable source?) have agreed that the iPhone is a reliable device. http://forums.ilounge.com/archive/index.php/t-212762.html
