G1 Phone from Tmobile, officially introduced as the HTC Dream:

Cost of the phone: The device itself will cost $179.99 and the unlimited 3G data transfer will be an additional $25/month along with any normal calling plan costs or an additional $35/month with unlimited messaging. http://www.t-mobileg1.com/

Usability: The user interface is easy to navigate and customize and the touch screen is sharp and easy to press buttons. It does not have a gravity sensor so the orientation of the screen will not change if the phone is inverted or turned sideways. There is no headphone jack, instead users must use a usb port and adapter to use headphones. The G1 has a full QWERTY keyboard that is hidden under the main display. The buttons are somewhat small but spacing in between keys is adequate for normal use.

Reliability: Forum websites like: http://www.mobile-phones.co.uk/phones/htc/g1/ and http://www.ciao.com/T_Mobile_G1__15676040 have rated this phone as 4 to 5 out of 5 for reliability.

Hardware: It measures 4.6 inches tall by 2.1 inches wide by 0.6 inch deep and weighs 5.6 ounces. It is rather large by comparison. Has a touch screen, microSD slot, usb port, 3MP camera without zoom or flash. Build in GPS with google.maps.
Battery Life: Five hours of talk time and 130 hours of standby time. The actual display measures 3.2 inches diagonally and has a 320x480 resolution. It's vibrant and sharp, and like the iPhone and RIM BlackBerry Storm, the touch screen is capacitive, so it will only respond to the touch of your finger and not your fingernail or other objects like a stylus www.cnet.com
