English 421Y: Technical Writing Online

This week the rough draft was put together by Emil. Everyone sent him their various segments so that they could be compiled into a thumbnail and submitted. I worked on the reliability and support topics, and I also did a few things with costs. I had, tabulated, the monthly costs of various service plans and additional features (like 3G data transfer) for the three networks. Also, I made a bar chart that compared the cost of each of the phones over the 2 year contract period-this was done with three separate and comparable service plans for each phone.

The draft was completed by Friday evening, and it looked quite good. There were some mechanical sorts of things that I plan to address this coming week. It is possible that there is too much white space, so I'm going to work on that a lot this week, as well as adding some sort of transparent background images to the pages. I've seen this in a lot of professional white papers and I thin it looks quite nice. Already had our senior design poster session, so I anticipate I'll have much more time to work on this than previously.
