My Resume

Resume Comments

Overall I think you have a really good start to your resume. The first thing I noticed about it, however, was how small your name is. This resume is all about you and you want your name to stand out so that the reader will remember it. When scanning through resumes, your name could get lost among the millions of other words that the HR rep has to read. You should definitely enlarge the font of your name, and possibly consider moving your address to one side and putting a permanent address on the other side to take up the white space that you have at the top. Second, I would revise your objective statement. It's a good statement overall, but usually you want it to start with "To obtain..." or something like that. I would also consider using indentations in the body of your resume. This would give a hierarchy to the information and make it easier to follow, especially at first glance. Going along with this, you may want to consider using more bullets in the body of your resume. The paragraphs under your experience section have a lot of good information which would definitely look good to an HR rep, but the large blocks of text may be a turnoff. If you could condense the paragraphs down to bullet points, it may make it easier to read. Besides that, I think your resume looks good. I like the use of lines to divide the sections; it makes it easy to find the information I am looking for without having to search. You also have a lot of experience and skills in the field you are applying for and if I worked in HR, it would get a second look.

Good job on this resume,

Good job on this resume, overall it is a very good resume. I do however feel that if you were to list the things you did/learned at the two jobs in a bullet point format it would be an easier read for the employer. By separating the things you did/learned form the jobs they would stand out easier and be more eye catching to the employer. Also I feel that you could make your name at the top larger so that it will stand out more, and again hopefully catch the eye of the employer. You may also want to play with the text a little more in order to differentiate the different part of the resume and to place more emphasis on the most important parts. Other than those couple of suggestions I think it is excellent. The only other thing that you might want to consider is changing your objective statement so that it begins with a strong verb, such as “to obtain”. This makes it a more straight forward, powerful sentence that catches the reader’s attention right from the start. The only other section you could add to it is achievements/activities if perhaps you wanted to try to differentiate yourself more from other candidates. You could perhaps add any clubs or group organizations that you are involved in, or you could add achievements that you have accomplished. I think that an HR Representative would definitely take a second look at your resume because you do have very relevant job experiences.
