My two instruction sets describe the process of downloading, installing, and beginning usage of Full Tilt Poker software. They are both currently formatted in 8.5 x 11 inch size, but I may adjust this if necessary (and I find out how to). In both instances I chose to use a significant amount of graphics to really simplify the process and provide an aesthetically pleasing document. I also tried to balance the color usage with blue font in certain areas.
To distinguish the two audiences, I chose to mainly include the same directional sets but with different "added" features. For the novice user, I decided to highlight, via the usage of "?" markers, information concerning the game of poker. This included information on where rules could be located, as well as information on community forums with which they could post questions and find answers. I neglected to include these in the expert version, as I anticipated that these individuals were already familiar with the game. Another simple distinction between both versions was that I included a few additional "tips" within the novice edition. These were again concerning gameplay issues.
My usability test consists of a simple survey. I would like to receive feedback via email, at nmhess@purdue.edu.
