Both of my instructions give the necessary steps to successfully play Call of Duty 5: World at War on the XBOX 360 console. My novice instruction set tells the reader how to hook up, turn on, and to play a single player game of Call of Duty 5. It gives all of the necessary steps with pictures needed to accomplish its task in the simplest manner. My expert instructions instead shows the reader how to play a game of Call of Duty 5 on XBOX Live and it gives them information on many of the different options that come along with playing a Live game.
The differences between my novice and expert users are great. In my instructions, the novice user is somebody who either just purchased an XBOX for the first time or is actually setting it up and playing a game for the first time. These types of readers will not have much or any experience with the XBOX 360 and its components. The expert users in my instructions will be people who own or have played XBOX 360 numerous times and have a XBOX Live account on their Profile. The type of player who has a Live account for XBOX 360 is going to know how to hook up their console, start a game, and successfully play it, so my expert instructions try to just help them along a little bit.
My novice instructions are very in detail. I go through the entire process of hooking up the XBOX console, connecting all the wires correctly, and how to actually start the game by giving a description of the steps and having a picture of the steps themselves. They are very in depth and I tried not to leave out any details or small steps. My expert instructions still give detail, just not in the same amount of depth as my novice instructions, but just with a different subject matter. With my expert instructions I did not have to show them all the basic steps of hooking up the console or how to insert/start the game. With my expert audience I knew that they would know how to work the system, so I just had to show them some of the different details and nuances of the game itself. Instead of showing them all of the basic steps of starting a game, I showed them some of the different features and tricks of the game.
