This activity report will summarize the progress I have made since the start of the English 421 White Paper Project.
This first week involved introducing myself to the other members of the group through email. I spent about 15 to 30 minutes familiarizing myself with google docs since this was the way we decided to share documents among the group.
I asked for suggestions on topics that the group members were specifically interested in that would ultimately be interesting for everyone. On Thursday evening I helped the team decide on our final topic of Oil Dependence and Renewable Energy for our White Paper Project.
Most of Friday was spent writing up a rough draft of the proposal that was due Friday at midnight. After I finished with the rough draft, I posted it on our google docs website and emailed the team members asking for them to edit and add anything that they thought needed to be addressed. After doing this I actually ran into one of my team members on campus and we found out that we actually have a couple of classes together, which will ultimately make it easier to possibly meet and discuss the project if need be.
This week I took the role of writing the first draft of the document and helping to organize how the work would get done. The rest of my team members seem really enthusiastic about being involved with everything and they all want to pull their weight on the team. I’m glad that I got such easy going and hard working partners and I’m sure the rest of the project will go as smoothly as the first week.
re: Individual Activity Report 1
There are good details in this report, but make sure you explicate statements such as: "On Thursday evening I helped the team decide on our final topic of Oil Dependence and Renewable Energy for our White Paper Project." What precisely did you do? What was your contribution? Concrete contributions should be your focus, because they reveal what you're individually adding to the project. This is important, because your group mates will be reviewing these blogs later as a record of your value to the group.
(Also, you don't need your first line.)
