Individual Activity Report

This week was very busy for me, having two exams, so I was not able to do too much work on the white paper project until Thursday. I began by going over all of the requirements posted on the web site a few times to make sure that our group would not miss any key features as we started to write the paper. On Thursday I contributed some possible topics via emails with my group before we decided to meet in a gmail chat on Thursday night. In the chat, I helped my group narrow down our topic choice to green energy and offered several solutions to the problem we would be focusing on. When we decided on our three solutions, we next moved on to individual roles. I volunteered to be the writer for my group. Since I was the writer I also volunteered to write our groups proposal. Having this role, I decided to take the role of secretary during our chat, writing down all of the main points that we went over so the information would be easily accessible when I began to write the proposal. After writing our proposal on Friday, I uploaded it to google docs so that everyone in the group could read it. I finally posted the proposal Friday night. The next step will be for me to meet with my group on Sunday night to go over research roles and everyone's projects for the rest of the semester.

I would recommend against starting an individual report with a qualification. While I understand that you are being candid, such an opening frames the report negatively. Also, make sure to explicate statements such as "On Thursday I contributed some possible topics via emails with my group before we decided to meet in a gmail chat on Thursday night," and "I volunteered to be the writer for my group." What topics did you propose? What are the duties of a writer? You want to be specific, especially because your group mates will be reviewing these blogs later as a record of your contributions to the group.
