The first week of this project was focused on getting started. I began by participating in discussions over email with the rest of my team. We emailed ideas for the topic of the project to each other. After everyone sent in their feedback, I tallied up the results and discovered that everyone voted for smart phones. This is how we chose our topic.
Immediately after that, I set up a Microsoft Office Live Workspace website for us to share our documents. I invited every member of the group and assisted some of them with setting up an account. On that website, I created a TODO list with assignments so that everyone who is doing what. Then I created a note file for us to store links of references that we find when we do our research. I will encourage everyone to use the website as much as possible to facility effective communication and organization. This should make people more productive and less reliant on email responses such as “What source did you use to find …?”.
After my group members uploaded the initial drafts of the proposal and group activity report, I revised those documents. I improved the flow and grammar of the documents and also separated large chunks into smaller paragraphs to make the structure of the document more apparent. Then I uploaded those changes back to the workspace for others to edit and upload.
