Week 13 Individual Activity Report

During week 12 our group began preparing and planning for our project. We brainstormed ideas for our audience and created a chronological schedule to help us track the life cycle of the project. The group worked on delegating different functions of the project out to individuals and some as group functions. Following this we all reviewed our schedule of tasks, which was organized in a gantt chart.

We are all also researching on the side of our other functions we’re performing individually. We had to have some discussion to narrow our audience down to something more precise than what we initially had. After some discussion we decided to focus our topic of open source and Microsoft software products in a small school (100 computers or less) or a small not-for-profit business. We are currently individually researching the direct and indirect costs of these different technologies when implemented in this type of scenario or dealing with this type of audience.

I’m also planning ahead for myself and will begin logging our group activities for this week as I will be writing this week’s group activity report. Currently I’m just working on research and summarizing any substantial information that would aid in our whitepaper. That’s my main concern for now and most of these next few days.

What YOU have DONE

As the project progresses, be sure to focus more on what you have done. You can certainly discuss your work in the context of group work, but you must focus on the concrete specifics of work you have completed. Notice that it is not until the final section that you begin to be concrete about what you will or have done.
