I really liked your thumbnail design! I think the green color you used would have worked, but since three out of the four of us chose a blue color, I guess we have decided to use blue instead. I originally thought that I liked the way Joe had done the graphics and pictures in his thumbnail, but after looking at yours, I think it looks nice to have the white space around the routers, as long as we can find pictures we can use without backgrounds (or with white ones). I think we can easily incorporate that into our final white paper design.
It might just be my own personal preference, but I'm usually not a fan of using green as a color for headers and subheaders. As we mentioned in our group meeting, blue might be the way to go. The columns, however, are very consistent and easy to follow. I like the sidebar too, as it adds a good spot to add any notes or quick-reference information, but the margins could be extended to give more space to work with. If we have space for a sidebar, I think it might be a good idea to include one. Otherwise, I think this thumb is easy to read and it gives the audience enough white space to keep them from feeling overwhelmed, which is another consideration we need to make as a group.
After looking at your thumbnail design I decided that I like it more then I did the first time I saw it. I don't mind using green for the header and sub headers however I think the particular green you choose might be a little to bright for our purposes. However I really like having two columns where one is the main column and the other is more of a side bar where we can put important information so readers can find it quickly. I also like the images you found for your thumbnail and think they would work well for our final design.
