I’d like to start off noting that I was thoroughly impressed with your thumbnail. First off, the color scheme, much like Brandon’s, is simple yet effective. The varying shades of blue to denote different components works well. Also, the underlining of the top level headers is clear, and each subheader contains sufficient white space to signify the start of new sections. Furthermore, the layout of the graphic is next to perfect. The figure title below the image, as it should be, along with the format of the quoted reference above the image. The one aspect that appealed to me the most, however, was the layout of the header and footer. I like how the white paper title right-aligns with the date, although offset in color and separated by a vertical line, as well as being separated from the body by a horizontal line. The same design applies to the footer, though left-aligned. I anticipate that a majority of your thumbnail design features will be incorporated into our final white paper draft.

Great Thumb! I agreed with

Great Thumb!

I agreed with Justin that the header and footer certainly set this thumbnail apart from the rest. I think the design of those really brings the whole page together. The color scheme is nice in this thumbnail, I am curious as to whether or not colors will be used in our final draft.

I am unsure of one aspect of your thumbnail. The line color/width/etc that is used for the line in the middle is very different in comparison to the lines in the header and footer. Perhaps these lines should be more alike?

Good Job Though!

Thanks

Thumb Review

I will have to agree with the above statements about the header. I think it is great and we should definitely look at using it for our rough draft. The color scheme is great and effective. I like the separation between the intro/description of the white paper and the first topic. The graphic works well and doesn’t ruin the rest of the page.

One thing that I do think needs to be changed is to add some white space in the form of a column as to create some relaxing free space as well as a place to add any notes. I know I read that somewhere, but I just can’t remember where.
