Here's my press release draft. I appreciate any comments and advices to improve it!
Reading the articles for this week, I could review the JetBlue's crisis in more ethical and professional view. Despite of the CEO’s responsible and sincere apology and promise toward the public, I found two critical points of the company’s reaction to the crisis. One was the professionalism, and the other one was the company’s ethics.
Here is my fianl project draft. The file containts my job ad analysis, cover letter, resume, and project assessment. Since the job ad page is not available anymore, I couldn't include it.
The helpful website I found is
http://ezinearticles.com/?JetBlue-07-Valentines-Day-Crisis---The-Case-For-Chief-Reputation-Officer-(CRO)&id=481010
The author mentions good examples, such as Enron and ExxonMobile's oil spill, to emphasize the importance of a company’s reputation, trust and prompt responsiveness to the public along with some ciriticisms and advices. As we all know, the two companies did not take their damaged reputation seriously and as a result they don't exist anymore.
Here's my cover letter. Feel free to offer any comments and advice.
The 5 candidates I chose to call for an interview are 5, 8, 13, 23, 32. Scanning all resumes within 10 minutes, first of all, I looked at how well a resume has been organized. If a resume hase been written in small font size and too lenghty or has abused bold and highlights improperly, I skipped it. In another hand, if a resume was very easy to read and well-organized with proper blank spaces, I felt like to read it more in depth.
I have one experience of making mistake in email. Taking one of my major classes, I had to attach my research report in the email which I was going to send to the professor. Since I didn't include an adeqate subject line, he regarded my email as a spam mail and discarded it. After a few weeks finding out I was the only one whose grade had not been posted yet, I had to send an email again to him to get mine graded. In this case, among the ten habits of successful emailers, including an informative subject line seemed to be missing.
