This week was certainly a busy one -- our group received some good comments from the Human Society as well as from other groups regarding our brochures. After we started to receive feedback on our second draft we began to make changes. Roy came to the conclusion that it was not a good representation of the Human Society, so he remedied it by starting from the beginning and reformatting everything. He added more pictures and spruced it up rather nicely as it was due on Wednesday. I believe it represents the Human Society more closely now.
This week our group worked on revisions of the brochures. Roy worked up revisions for the humane society brochure while Cristina nad I worked together to spruce up the pet care brochure. I worked mainly on the writing in the brochure while Cristina revised the layout a bit. After doing the 5 minute test with the brochures i have decided that the pet care one really needs some work yet. We reall need to get some of the sections less wordy and easier to read. The brochure would also look nicer if it was easier to follow.
5:00 Appeal to Emotions: The brochure on the humane society has a very calming design which I think leads to the idea that if you go there the process of adoption will go smoothly. The pet care brochure has a fun design which gets you excited about talking about bringing the new dog home. I think that some more pictures could be added but otherwise it looks good. I give both of them a “+”
This week seemed to be smoother then the last week. Now that our group is acquainted we began the week by dividing up the brochures. Because I work in the animal field I decided that I would make the best contribution completing the pet brochure. Maria did an excellent job finding a design that was appealing yet not too distracting. She also helped me in some of the writing and formatting of the brochure. We worked great together and got a draft sent to Roy by Wednesday evening. Roy and Gwenda worked on the information brochure on the humane society.
The two chapters in the Thomson Handbook were very helpful when considering what to include and how to include information in the brochures out group crated. The brochure that I worked on was the pet care brochure specifically dog care. The design was not chosen by me but was laid out in a unique way. The colors in the brochure lay out and the objects used for the headings provided great contrast between the topic at hand and the bulk of the information. Chapter 37 had very helpful hints on how to use variety with in the sentences that were posted in our rough brochure.
I believe that i managed to do the best I could to get the assignments accomplished this week. I sent an email out when we were assigned groups and introduced myself. I then began sending out a few email this week to try to get things moving and start dividing up duties. I did not get much response from my group so began to work on the gantt chart by myself. Luckily i heard from Roy and got a rough draft from him . I combined the both or ours and posted our groups gantt chart.
Our gantt chart is attached as an excel document
The brochure that I found it attached and can also be found at:

This link actually contains two separate brochures made by the company Merial. Merial is a company that produces products for pets. These two brochures are for Heartgard and Frontline. I am going to focus more on the brochure for Frontline in my reading response.
My final project is attached
My letter is attached. I feel like my middle paragraph could be two paragraphs but am unsure. Please help!!
