Is my tone one that would be acceptable to my reader?
Just like other people, I also do not have very much experience when it comes down to writing cover letters. After reading through all the material provided I have a much better understanding about what it takes to create a well written and well composed cover letter. One interesting aspect that I stumbled upon while reading the instructors blog was, using the same header that was used in the resume as the header for the cover letter.
This weeks readings about resumes has only reinforced what I have already learned and have been told, resumes are the most important part about getting a job. Most of the work that needs to be done when trying to get a job needs to be working on the resume. When working on the resume the single most important part would have to be overall appearance. If your resume looks like trash your chances for getting that job will be going there as well.
After reading through chapter 8 the main topic of organization is one that I find that I need to focus more on when writing. When it comes down to writing anything of importance the need for organization is key. With out any form of organizing your writings it will prove to be more difficult than if you were to organize your writings prior.
Chapter 15 helps in discussing the many aspects that make up the process of writing a resume. They talk about how you should preplan your thoughts, what the proper research about a company you need to think about, all the way through getting your resume out there.
