Individual Activity Report 5

This activity report accounts for the progress I have made from April 27th to May 3rd.

This week my first task was to revise my section of the white paper. I mainly had to change the wording of my section to avoid using 2nd person which was noted by Professor Rivers as being too informal for a professional document. I also had to include my citations within my section of the paper. The citations were used in the side notes of my section.

Wind Turbine Benefits

For my last research blog I decided to try and find some of the benefits of using domestic wind turbine technology. This was harder than it seemed because I couldn’t really find a source that did not seem biased towards using wind turbines no matter what. Also most of the sources I found had slightly differing information. I finally settled on a couple of websites that I felt had a decent amount of information.

Wind Turbine Needs

For my second research blog I decide to find out what was actually required to be able to have a wind turbine for domestic use. I found all of this information from two different websites.

Wind Turbine Cons

For my first research blog I decide to find out about the cons of domestic wind turbine use. Since we need to present both sides of the argument I thought that this could be used as its own section within the white paper. The information I found was from http://www.eejitsguides.com/environment/domestic-turbines.html.

Ethics

Ethics obviously seems like it should be the most important thing to consider when you are making any kind of major decision or are working for a large business. Unfortunately this is usually not the case. It is quite obvious that most people and businesses are only out for themselves and generally do not care what happens along the way. I think this is seen most with larger companies more than the average person or small business. It is pretty obvious when you look at the way they treat their customers or their attitude towards the environment.
