Thumbnails- Group 2

Comment.

This is a good design but like I said to Ben I think we should incorporate more green to make people think about “going green”. I think that this layout would work well but we have to come to an overall conclusion about this and I think that they are all good. I like the side bar which could incorporate small bits of information and specs that we have listed from our research. The graphic areas will be needed throughout to show people what these things actually look like because there are so many different sizes and shapes of them and all that.

Overall I like your thumbnail and think that it would serve as an adequate layout for a white paper. In particular I like your use of the side bar. I think that this would be an effective approach for either providing a summary of what the reader is reading or for providing the reader with relevant background information. One suggestion that I would make is to extend the line underneath the header so that it is overtop the entire side bar box. I think that this will help make the document more aesthetically pleasing. Besides this suggestion I think that this layout would be very effective.

Your layout is very clean. It is well organized and you took good advantage of the space. I like that you plan on using big graphics in your example. With wind turbine technology, the graphics can easily be very detailed and hold a lot of information. Providing extra space for your graphics can help the reader observation. Your side bar will offer valuable space for information. I would suggest not boxing in the entire area especially if there is no text in some areas. It will create an empty look to your page. Rather, I would box around every addition comment on the side bar.
