White Paper Toenail

I think you have a good start here. I especially like the chosen picture, we should find a way to incorporate that into our paper. I think the one thing that I would change here, though, would be color. We should use more color to stand out. We don't want the reader to pick up our white paper and be turned off by plain black and white before they even read it. The right color choice could make a huge difference in whether or not our paper is taken seriously. Also I think you might want to be more consistent with columns. It seems like you added a column to the right side of your second page but there isn’t one on the first page. This goes all the way back to the employment project where we were told that consistent columns make papers appear more professional.

I think your design is very effective in terms of how it’s broken up. You have your heading follow with a line break to guide the reader’s eye to the text. The columns I agree with Bill might it need to be a little more consistent with the different placement of the added column. I think having a picture in the center of the white paper might work, depending on the size. Overall, it’s a start in the right direction of with concepts of what we want for our white paper. Also, I agree with Bill in having that picture in the white paper!

I think your overall structure will work for us if we end up having a lot of written content and figures. If that's the case, having a side bar like the ones found in my thumbnail and Bill's might be too constricting. I also, in all seriousness, like the format you've chosen for the image and bullet list. I would say your color scheme and other background design elements are a little bland, and that your toenail could use a little more columnar consistency.
