I think that the “Ten Habits of Successful Emailers” is a great guideline for everyone. The first habit really stood out to me; I know that a prompt response can be a real problem in some of the classes I have taken. Advisors and professors are constantly asking students to check their email. A lot of times emails will be sent out last minute with important information and a prompt response is needed. I get frustrated when I have to work on a group project and it takes everyone a long time to respond.

Siemens USA Accounting/Auditing Internship

This is a position for an internship with Siemens USA. The internship would involve the areas of accounting and auditing. The position includes activities such as preparing reports, conducting research, making charts, and submitting proposals. Interns are closely supervised to ensure quality work. While scanning the contents of The Thomson Handbook, I found a lot of information about technical writing and writing appropriately for an audience. For example, the table of contents lists sections on writing critically, presenting information, and writing using technology. The glossary also provided a lot of useful information about this text, especially about technology. I expect this course to put a heavy emphasis on technical writing. I hope to learn more about how to effectively communicate my ideas to an audience.
