It was last week of making the final revision of the brochure. I was in charge of general information brochure from the beginning so I continued making the brochure look more professional. First I went over the comments of our instructor for the second draft. Then I reviewed the comments from Clinton Humane Society. I started making changes of what our instructor has made and then focused on what Humane Society asked us for.
The week 7 was more challenging than last week since there were second draft to due, peer editing and reading response. I revised the general information brochure as the comments from our instructor. There was huge change in the contents since I was confused with The Humane Society in United Sates and Clinton Humane Society in Indiana. So we had to actually change all the information we provided in the first draft into information from Indiana’s Clinton Humane Society into our own words.
Appeal to Emotions: +
Our general information and caring for pet brochure strongly appeals to the heart of the emotions of our readers. Especially images of children holding or hugging their pet next to each create emotional connection with the readers.
Be Professional: +
I think our design of brochure is very professional. We used appropriate pictures that are closely related to each main point. Also our organization is neat and clean that it allows readers to easily understand and follow the contents.
Be Personal: +
This week has been very busy creating our first draft of general information brochure. Since I was responsible for designing the brochure, I started brainstorming last weekend about the big frame. I searched for various brochures that are already made to get some ideas and broad a perspective. I focused on the organization of information, the way to place each section effectively. Also I searched for the pictures I will be including along contents that can match to the background colors as well.
Reading Chapter 24 and 37 was very useful but at the same time using those strategies in our brochure was not as easy as I thought. But it definitely was a great tip and resource to use as a guideline.
Hear is our general information brochure for The Clinton Humane Society!
This week was the beginning of project, so rather than the real work, get to know who my members are and brainstorming for our gantt chart. After receiving emails from my group members introducing themselves, I also send emails to my members introducing myself. I tried to figure out how we should divide our works by dividing the work into perhaps two groups to make the work less hard yet effective. Still I suggested giving enough feed back to each other is important so that everybody is involved in the project.
The brochure I found is informational developed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security explaining about preparing pets for emergencies. It is divided into three sections giving more details of getting a pet emergency supply kit, planning what you will do in an emergency and knowing about types of emergencies.
