Reading Response 4

I really liked this reading. It gave me a really good perspective on writing. I never thought of considering what kind of environment the reading will be in when they read the document. I have a major problem with find the right words to use while I am writing. I really liked the different aspects of context mentioned on page 8.It give me a much clearer idea of what all I should keep in mind while writing. These are things you know, but actually having a list makes it easier to remember and ensure that you kept the aspects in mind while writing. The most helpful part is the project checklist.

Reading Response 3

I was very surprised that Jet Blue did not have a crisis plan in place. Being an airline company you have to be equipped with plans for times like these. The way the situation was handled without having a set plan was very good. I think ethics is what played a major factor in this crisis. The fact the CEO admitted that they had made a mistake and were doing everything they could to rectify the situation and to compensate the customers is probably what saved the company from completely going under water.

Final project

Here is the final project!

Jet Blue

This article found on NBC talks about the CEO's reaction to what happened as well as how confused the staff was. It also talks about approximately how many flights were cancelled and a passengers experience about what to do. While it was complete chaos for those few days, you are also able to see that the staff was trying to do everything in their power to help the passengers even though they did seem a little confused. You are also able to see that there was a conscience effort by the company to bring the crisis under control.

Resume Extravaganza

This exercise was actually a lot of fun. I felt like I finally knew what employers go through. At my internship last summer my boss mentioned that they had received over 500 resumes for their internship program. I can only imagine how they sorted through all of those resumes.
I finally see the importance of organizing your resume well. As soon as I looked at the resume I saw how well it was organized and the use of action verbs. I almost scanned the beginning of each sentence and I felt like there was a really strong verb then I read the whole sentence.

Job analysis

After reading the text, I was a lot more clear on what employers actually mean tin their job ads. For example, I always thought that when the ad said experience reccomended but not required ti meant if you did nto have any experience you would nto get hired. After reading the text I found a job on career builder after much searching. It is for an entry level food technologist. I think its good to look for entry level jobs because i think they are willing to teach you as you go alongthe road.
