ROBERTS Work Blog Week #8

This week was focused on details. I reviewed the revisions and suggestions by both the client and Mr. Tirrell. In addition, I took the revision suggestions and comments from my peers into consideration while revising for the final draft. This week my group had a meeting on Wednesday. During this meeting, we were able to set the plan for the completion of the project. For example, who is going to do what, and what direction we are going to take in terms of revisions. One main topic discussed was whether to leave our submitted draft 2 a quater fold or return it to a tri-fold.

Roberts Work Blog Week 7

This was a very hectic week for my group. For the project this week, I just began making revisions to draft 1 and communicating with my group. My group was given a lot of revision comments for draft 2, but unfortunately we never organized exactly how we were going to make those revisions. I think everyone contributed in some way, but it ended up being on the night it was due myself and another group member sending it back and forth to finish it up.

Reading Response 7

5:00 Appeal to Emotions: (+) Christmas is a very sentimental season and especially a time for giving. I think our group does an excellent job at encouraging people to give back to their community in some small way whether its money or time by appealing to their heart.
4:00 Be Professional: (+) I think our brochure design appears simple but not cheap. We did use pictures that the organization gave us that were obviously not professionally taken photos, but I think the natural side, and the honesty that those pictures portray only helps in the brochures appeal.

ROBERTS Work Blog Week 6

This week has been a very productive week for both myself and my group. To start the week off I posted a simple organizational layout for a tri fold brochure as an idea for my group to use. My group seemed to like the idea and that layout ended up being the organization we took when we designed the brochure. Next, I organized the research that I found on the internet. I went through and made sure that our group fulfilled all the requirements and that I found all the necessary information that we were supposed to put on the brochure.

ROBERTS - Reading Response (6)

This document was especially hard to create for various reasons. First, it applies to a highly diverse audience ranging from children to business owners. It is espcially hard to create an appealing design. Also, I thought that many hispanic people would be participating so I tried using simple words in an attempt to make the brochure as easy to read as possible. It was a challenge to make the brochure professional for the businessman, but gain the attention of a child.

ROBERTS Work Blog Week 5

The biggest challenge for this project is communicating ideas with my group. One of my group members is actually in London and that really confuses the time zone situation. However, I think overtime we are getting the idea of it. This week I contributed greatly to the overall productivity of our group. I sent our numerous e-mails communicating with my group about ideas on communication and how exactly to go about this project. My group is communicating via the WIKI page set up by Mr. Tirrell. It appears to be going very well.
