Documents & Testing
Alex Lewis Week 14 Doc & Test
NEWMAN — Fri, 11/28/2008 - 19:24
For the documents and testing group this week has been extremely slow. The design plan is finished until we get a final website that will allow us to create the final plan that fits our exact website. As soon as we return from the week break we will meet with the coding teams, so that we can discuss a change document. From what I understand from the coding teams we will discuss in the document how to change the overall body of the text and we will include how the board can post, edit, and delete documents from the website.

This week is very, very slow for the documents and testing team. We are finished with the design plan for now until the website has a main framework. We are also waiting on the framework in order to complete the change document. We will be meeting with backend at the first of next week to plan the change document. I believe we will be discussing how to change images, body text, and how to add and delete documents on the BOD page. This should not be too difficult based on what we know the backend has worked on so far.

This week for the website project, our group completed everything within the deadline. On Monday in class, we worked on the design plan to create an entire document and not just a list of the six rhetorical elements. We worked on this the entire class and then for Wednesday we were to each print off and proofread the document. I printed the document off Tuesday and proofread and brought my ideas for revision into class Wednesday.

This week the group has primarily worked on the design plan.
Monday November 17:
This day started with taking each individuals design plan and placing it into one document. Over the weekend myself and the other group members edited our own design plans, so that we could place it into one document. We made each group member go over the complete document with a red pen and edit out all the errors we could find due for Wednesday. This is what I did on Tuesday was print out the complete document from Google docs and make any revisions that I could find.

This entire week has been dedicated to updating the design plan in order to meet the Wednesday deadline. My specific responsibility was the board members section. On Monday I spent most of the class period, and time that evening, working on making changes to my section of the design plan. Most of the changes made were cosmetic as no new information came out of the coding teams. After the plan was updated, I, along with the rest of the team, individually revised the entire document.
Week 12 work blog

I know this is late and for that I apologize. I'll start with Monday November 10. On Monday myself and the other group members had what seemed like a brainstorming session for the design plan. We knew that our medium was set, but what we wanted to define were the audiences that would be visiting this website. What we came up with were four audiences the job seekers, the board, volunteers, and donors. My personal audience analysis was the job seeking audience.

The documents and testing team spent the entirety of this week working on creation of initial design plan elements and a draft-testing plan. Personally I was in charge of working on the “board member “ audience of the website. After browsing the CFRC website I found the current board member list. This allowed me to gain a better understanding of their collective careers, as they are listed on the site. This background information, as well as some searching on some board member’s employer homepages led to the audience, context, arrangement, and strategies sections of my portion of the analysis.
Week 12
Roachel — Fri, 11/14/2008 - 18:48
This week the documents and testing team goal was to complete the six rhetorical elements for each specific audience for this project. Each member was assigned a specific audience( job searchers, board of directors, donors, and volunteers), and our job was to analyze each of the six rhetorical elements that apply to our specific audience. Our second goal was to create a survey for each audience in order to test how well the website is designed.
Week 12 Update: Neely
boiler16 — Fri, 11/14/2008 - 12:13
I along with the other members of the documents and testing group accomplished a great deal this week. Our goal for the week was to have the design plan laid out in the six rhetorical elements, create a testing plan, and start on the change document which was completed.
