STUDTMAN Work Blog Week 8

Week 8, the last week, was another good week for group 1. Over the weekend I sent out an email to the group members to recap what we still needed to get done. According to our Gantt chart, we were supposed to have our final revisions in by Tuesday, and our Work Blog and Analysis in by Friday. My group members sent me input in on time so I could start making final revisions on our brochure.

STUDTMAN Work Blog Week 7

Week 7 was another good week for Tirrell Group 1 on the service learning project. We started this week out similar to the other weeks. We emailed ideas of the projects’ design and revisions of the text. When revising, we looked at our instructor feedback and took into account the past weeks reading.

5:00 Appeal to Emotions: +
I think our group did a good job appealing to our audiences emotions. We use a red and green color scheme that makes our audience think about Christmas. Also, we placed pictures from the previous events to show some of the good times new volunteers could have.

4:00 Be Professional: +
Our brochure looks professional. We used Microsoft Publisher which gives us many useful tools to make our brochure look professional. I also think we used good pictures and logos which were supplied to us by CFRC.

STUDTMAN Work Blog Week 6

This week we actually started our project and got the ball rolling. We started out the week by reviewing our Gantt chart and began working on our assigned materials. We have kept the lines of communication open quiet well and we are still effectively using email as our main source.

Creating a brochure for a client that we only know through our research, seemed like it was going to be a walk in the park, but now I can see there are a lot of factors to consider. To effectively represent the information, we need to follow the principles of variety, conciseness, audience, design, and many others.

STUDTMAN Work Blog Week 5

***This is Work Blog Week 5 not Week 6

So far, so good! I would say this week has been a good start to what I hope to be a very good group and final product. We started this week out on Tuesday by emailing each other and expressing how excited we were about the project. Beth was the first to lead off the email with a quick introduction and we all shortly followed. We exchanged AIM contacts, email addresses, facebook accounts, and phone numbers. So far email seems to be our primary means of communication, but as the project goes on I hope to at least try out the wiki space.

The brochure I choose is from the United States Department of Health and Human Services and the United States Department of Agriculture. It breaks down the different parts of the nutritional values on the back of food products. It can be found at:
