This week I did a lot of editing of my section of the white paper. First I needed to have my structure match that of the other two router sections. In our initial rough draft the sub-headers were different so I needed to adjust my subjects for the right sections. I also needed to add information about my router being draft-n capable. There was also information that needed to be given about the hardware of my device. I added things such as the functionality of the power plug, the vertical configuration of the router, and the mobility of its antennas.
I spent most of this week working on inserting revisions and suggestions from the instructors and the rest of the group into our rough draft of the white paper.
This week we edited our rough draft from last week in order to put together a final draft to hand in for our project. There were a number of minor details that needed to be adjusted. Some of the points brought to our attention by our instructor were to change our spacing so it was not double and consistency in the use of spaces and serial commas. We also had some errors with heading titles and other quick-fixes that needed to be taken care of.
This week our group worked to perfect our rough draft. Although the rough draft did an effective job portraying the research done on our three renewable energy resources, it needed editing and citations. In addition to making the corrections suggested by Professor Tirrell in his rough draft comments, the paper needed polishing.
This week I revised my performance section of the white paper. I took into account the advice from the instructor on how to make it better and be more usable as a white paper. The first thing I had to do was make brief captions for each chart that I had placed on the different turbine performance outlines.. These captions just gave a basic overview of what you were seeing in terms of the charts and graphs that I used. The other part that needed some help was to make a bulleted summary of the information I put in the main paragraphs of the performance part.
Its a day late, but this is my individual activity report from last week. During week fourteen, I along with the rest of my group mainly focused on completing the rough draft of our white paper. Because there was no reading response or comments to make about the reading responses, I had the entire week to just focus on this. I had a meeting with my group the week before were we had briefly discussed how we wanted to do the rough draft, and during the week we continued to refine it as new issues came up.
Last week, I mainly worked on the white paper draft. I was the sole person responsible for creating the draft. Of course, the entire team will later edit the document -- my job was to start us off. I started the week with doing some additional research and preparing my part of the research as paragraphs to include in the white paper. I also contacted my team members and asked them to send me the information they collected from their research. Everyone uploaded documents to the shared workspace website and I used those to start off the white paper.
This week has been relatively easy going. With only two things to get accomplished this week, it was easier to get what was need to be done completed. The major task that I had to get finished was writing up my portion of the rough draft. I started writing up my portion of the rough draft on Wednesday and finished the typing Thursday afternoon. I typed up about five hundred words and came up with a good quote that could have been used as a persuasive tool in our white paper project. The only other thing that I had to do this week was write up this weeks group activity report.
