With my instructions I am using 7.5 x 10 paper for both my novice and experienced. For the novice i am trying to islolate the steps with boxes. Trying to make the appeance less intimidating. Using attrows to help guide the novice through the steps. For the Experienced I am having the instructions steps seperated by horizontal lines, and being easy to follow. Both documents are going to include photos to help guide the user through the steps.

My instructions will be presented as an ASP.NET website, primarily formatted via CSS. Each individual service that I cover will reside on its own page. The name of the service will represent the page's title and leading header (the 'Headers' section in the attached PDFs). Each individual process will have a screenshot (provided by a native iPhone utility) and its own header similar to the 'Subheaders' section. The separate steps of each process will be enumerated and any sub-steps will be indented below the number.

Right now I have both pages set at 7" wide and one long page down so the user can scroll through them will still having screen to using the software. I would like to drop the expert set down to around 6". I also really don't care for the quality of my screenshots, if anyone has better software or methods to use I would appreciate the help.

Thanks.

Since I have elected to use html/webpage format for my instruction set, instead of using word or another graphic/layout editor, I've created the actual XHTML/CSS instruction template. Since this is a very time consuming process, I've included both elements of the novice and expert instruction set in one pdf with explanation here:

The list format displayed (1, a, i) will be used in the novice instruction set along with screenshots to guide the user through the basic steps of creating the encrypted drive.

In my instructions the novice ones presents more of a step by step process to get the program install and some basic features.

The expert instructions I plan on having links at the top of the page so the user can jump to the section which describes the feature they are using.
