Research Blog #1

Jeff's picture

Well for my first research blog I decided to see what SharePoint had to offer the consumer. Since I had never used it before I figured this would be a good start. The one piece of information I found was an Excel spreadsheet listing the features of the different versions of SharePoint. It seems that the 2007 version is the best. They added new features and improved on just about all of the current features offered in the 2003 version. Just by reading through the descriptions it seems like this product would really help people in the business world.

In their tests of this router they were able to establish that it averages 5.62 MBps while one meter away and it could average 4.39 MBps while thirteen meters away with two double-brick walls as an obstacle.

Research Blog (1) - Nuclear Power

The website http://www.eia.doe.gov/cneaf/nuclear/page/nuc_reactors/reactsum.html will be the main source of information for the nuclear power section of the white paper project. This website contains summaries of official energy statistics from the United States Government for up to the past 10 years. Since this website is a government run page, the information should be completely factual and unbiased. It will also give credibility to our white paper.

Enviro-energies Mag-Wind, wind turbine.

The third website I chose to research is www.enviro-energies.com. This type of wind turbine is for people who would like a lower profile type turbine and can use it in low wind applications. These turbines are vertical axis turbines that are mounted on rooftops. Rooftop units such as these make use of the extra wind power generated from the rooftop effect, which is where the wind blows harder because of the pitch of your roof. The enviro-energy turbines also generate power at a much lower speed.

Bergey BWC Excel wind turbine.

The second website I will be conducting research from is www.bergey.com. The Bergey BWC Excel has won the award of America’s best selling residential home wind power system. This system has one of the bigger price tags for the home wind turbine market but has some of the biggest output numbers I’ve seen so far. It is also one of the largest wind turbines in terms of sheer size. Some of these models are anywhere from 60 to 120 feet high and the blade diameter is some 22 feet which makes it a colossal wind turbine.

Skystream 3.7 Wind Turbine.

My first website that I will be researching is www.skystreamenergy.com. This website is all about the newly introduced Skystream 3.7 wind turbine. This particular turbine seems to be larger than most of the other models I’ve seen but it has many great reviews on how it actually functions. The Skystream 3.7 works in tandem with the power you receive from the utility company. If there is no wind, you are using power from the utility company.

My part of the research is to find the public opinion of each phone and to make this information available to the reader. Not really giving a bias opinion of what people have said, but to give the reviewer a chance to get a good feel for each phone and how they compared.

My third research blog covers information from the website http://hardwaretechreview.com/linksys-wrt54g2-wireless-g-router-review, which includes another tech review. It touches upon a few other features that my second research blog didn’t cover.

My first research blog summarizes information from the website http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/products/WRT54G2, which is provided by the manufacturer of the Linksys WRT54G2. In my opinion, this website is the most reliable source of information for finding the features included with this product.
