Reading Response 5

After searching the internet for brochures, I found one I liked at http://www.uccwireless.com/Radio%20brochure%20back.jpg. The brochure is for Motorola and its options for business communication. I really like how the information jumps off the page at you. Many of the elements from Chapter 25 can be found in this brochure.

Reading Response - 5

Reading Response – 5

As I read through chapter twenty-five, I find many ideas and subjects that will help me and my group for our final project. These ideas can and will be very helpful because this chapters lays out the entire brochure making process step by step. The chapter begins with some broad ideas, but as I read further, I find that the ideas become more and more specific. This is great because this is how the writing and design process goes for me.

Reading Response Week 5

The brochure I found is for a company called CxGBS. The brochure just tells you a little about their company and what they do. I think the proximity of the pictures and the words that are describing the pictures is pretty good throughout the brochure. Each paragraph on the second page has a picture showing some of the buildings that the company has built. Everything also seems to be perfectly aligned in the brochure. Again on the second page every paragraph is aligned with the one directly on top and below it.

Reading Response #5

The brochure I chose is for the Manchester City football hospitality. It is quite a bit longer than the brochures that our group will be producing, but it seemed to follow everything that was pointed out in Chapter 25. I thought the length of the brochure was significant to point about because the company did a good job in keeping my interest and attention, despite how long it was. This is the whole idea behind writing a brochure; holding the readers' attention by using good visuals and concise text.

Reading Response (5)

The brochure I chose to post is for the Minnesota State Patrol Summer Camp. The site is: http://www.dps.state.mn.us/patrol/employment/HS_Cadet_Brochure07.pdf The brochure is both informative and persuasive. It gives information about the camp but also persuades students to attend. This brochure definitely utilizes the saying that people judge a book by its front cover. The front cover of the brochure catches your eye immediately and keeps your attention throughout. It uses a comic theme with state troopers throughout the entire brochure. The theme helps give it consistency.

Reading Response Week 5

Reading through chapter 5 I found myself reflecting on the works I had created in the past and the terms and reasoning behind them to my previous works. What I mostly thought of was my state of mind when I was creating the documents and how I used elements from the book but had no idea of the psychological elements behind them. In less complicated language, I used elements such as repitition and contrast because it made the document more visually appealing but if I was asked to explain WHY it was so I could probably do little more than shrug my shoulders and offer a halfhearted "I dunno".

Reading Response #5

The brochure I found has many elements of graphic design which puts emphasis on one another. Proximity is a big factor in this particular brochure. Not only is there a very distinct blue hue on the front cover, but it is rather large compared to the other components. The plain colors of the background also make it stand out more which also goes for some of the other pages as well. The element of alignment acts as a tool for the reader and by this I mean it leads the eye from one piece of information to the next with ease.

Reading Response 5

I found a brochure with information about the 2007 Jeep Commander. The first thing I noticed was the color schemes. It is a very colorful document and provides the reader with an abundance of pictures. Obviously this is what the designer had in mind so that it will encourage readers to want to purchase this vehicle. Since I currently work in the auto industry, I have scene what works and what does not when it comes to sparking interest. This brochure is a fine display of something that would interest the average consumer.

Reading Response 5: Brochure

The brochure that I found it attached and can also be found at:
http://frontline.au.merial.com/pdf/frontline_brochure.pdf

This link actually contains two separate brochures made by the company Merial. Merial is a company that produces products for pets. These two brochures are for Heartgard and Frontline. I am going to focus more on the brochure for Frontline in my reading response.

Reading response # 5

The brochure I found is about green scaping issued in the public interest by The United States Environment Protection Agency. I my view this is a perfect example of a lively and attractive brochure. There is so much freshness in it, predominantly created by the pictures added. The pictures are very well suited to the theme and the purpose of the brochure.
