The following is my individual report of work from April 13 through April 19.
This week has been another step in the right direction of completing our white paper. Overall most of my time this week was spent researching the problems associated with the current methods of providing power. These topics included problems with the common types of power production and the inherent problems with the current power infrastructure. This research will be used to help establish a need for wind turbines.
For my second research blog, I decided to cover the information that was contained in an article titled New York Needs Renewable Wind Power, which is available online here. This article was published by Citizens Campaign for the Environment, an 80,000 member not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing strong environmental policies. This article discusses reasons of support for renewable energy and wind power in New York.
For my second research blog, I decided to cover the information that was contained in a May 2008 Popular Mechanics article titled Rebuilding America Special Report: How to Fix U.S. Infrastructure. This article is also available online here . Popular Mechanics is a monthly circulating magazine that focuses on current topics in technology and science.
This research blog will summarize the information that is contained in the website http://www.ec.gc.ca/
cleanair-airpur/Pollution_Sources/Electricity_Generation/Coal_and_Oil_Fired_Power-WS36F53482-1_En.htm. This website consists of environmental information related to coal- and oil-fired power. This information was provided by Environment Canada, which is legally incorporated as Canada’s Department of the Environment.
